THE PRESETS [MODULAR]
If you’re the last person in the world not to take my advice and rush out for the fabulous new album, Apocalypso, from The Presets, then let me tempt you once again with this second single and decidedly queer dance track. Don’t believe me? Then YouTube the video for the hottest homoerotic man-on-man mud wrestling action since Bruce Weber first picked up his camera. The imagery is dark, shocking and moody, much like the punch of this Australian-produced dance track.
There’s something believably butch about these brutal beats, right down to the gruff singing style and electrosmash keyboard programming. Remixes from Lifelike, Zombie Nation, Damage and Juri Hulkkonen do all the things that remixers should. They dissect and separate, then stitch it all back together into a fabulously Frankensteinian bride.
