Praise the Lord for Mashed! And Kissy Sell Out! And The Ashton Shuffle! Where most compilations just mix in one song to the next, these sets are a proper soundscape of layered drum beats, instrumentals, acapellas and nasty remixes. It’s total craziness that is coming to a town near you soon, as these fellas are getting on the tour bus and flogging their wares around the country.
Mr Sell Out sizzles on his awe-full set; his production made of big pop bricks (but in cool versions) and underground club mortar. The two go together to form the happy house of Kissy dance.
A similar groove kicks in on Aston Shuffle’s mix with massive pleasers and teasers from my heroes Cut Copy, Hot Chip, PNAU, Daft Punk, Juan McLean, The Knife and of course, The Presets.
I love this CD.
