Although Jody’s cover of Chic’s classique funk hit ‘I Want Your Love’ was first released, albeit quietly, mid-2007, it’s just so brilliant that the queen of disco-soul couldn’t resist a house-aphonic makeover. So it’s back, as is she, with a fleshy set of porky make-overs by a far-reaching grouping of mixmasters.
The Masi & Mellow late night vocal version strips the track bare with hollow tribal drums doing all the groove work, while a complementary minimal Cristian Paduraru Electrotek Dub Mix focuses on the bleeps and bells. Then Thomas Gold steps in for a full floor extravaganza of brimstone, flames and disco thunder. Finally the Wiild Boys Miami mix turns the beat around into a big sexy happening thang, so gay, so lush, so pretty.
