And if you needed more proof that 50 is the new 25, Donna Summer is also back! She’s the icon that 1970s gays loved to hate after they loved her before she hated them. Confusing? Not really; she found God and denounced her fanbase, then spent the next 10 years scrambling for forgiveness (Wikipedia it for the background story).
However, that was then and this is now, and the old disco diva has upped her RnB medicine in order to take on a new generation of soul-dance lovers. Donna is still working hard for her money with assistance from airwave maestros Greg Kurstin (P!nk & Lilly), Danielle Brisebois (Tash Bedingfield and my boys, New Radicals), JR Rotem (Rihanna and Sean Kingston), Lester Mendez (Santana and Shakira,) and Evan Bogart (writer of Rihanna’s ‘SOS’). In her own words ‘The queen is back’ to conquer those squawky scrubbers stealing her limelight. Watch out girls ‘cos this ladee can sing.
