Roger Murphy at Salamanca
Peter Barraclough's Studio, Wooby's Lane, Salamanca
July 9 - September 9, 10am - 4pm
“All my paintings are of places I like to be,” says Roger.
“I like to feel myself in the landscape – on the riverbank, on the shoreline or in a street – and I try to capture my day of being there through the atmosphere, the light and the colour that I put into my works. Wherever I am painting - in my home island of Tasmania, on the mainland of Australia or overseas, I always feel privileged to be earning my living in these beautiful places.”
Roger Murphy is a painter much awarded and exhibited, both at home in Tasmania, and around the world. He now divides his painting time between his Kingston Beach studio, and the exotic cities of Europe.
However, for a few months this Winter, he is “house-sitting” at his friend, Peter Barraclough's iconic studio, in Wooby's Lane, Salamanca. There you will be able to see the man at work, and the marvellous images he produces. Not to be missed! For more information, see: www.rogermurphy.com.au
